Deaconess Hon Omolola Fagbemi , the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Women Campaign Committee and Commissioner for Women Affairs, has made a bold promise to deliver 1 million votes from the women’s wing of the party for Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa in the upcoming Ondo State governorship election scheduled for November 16, 2024.
Speaking during the inauguration ceremony of the APC Women Campaign Committee, Fagbemi highlighted the critical role women play in shaping the future of the state. She charged the committee members and all women in the state to embark on an aggressive mobilization campaign to ensure that women voters turn out en masse to cast their votes for the APC candidate.
“We need to embark on an aggressive mobilization and sensitization of women voters across the state by educating them on the need to remain with the APC-controlled government,” Fagbemi stated. “On 16-11-2024, we have a date with history, and we cannot afford to make a U-turn.”
She underscored the achievements of Governor Aiyedatiwa’s administration, citing improvements in education, infrastructure, healthcare, and industrialization, and urged women to ensure the continuity of these efforts by supporting the APC.
“We are calling on the good people of Ondo State to mark their ballots for the continuity of good governance under Governor Aiyedatiwa. This election is not just about the present, but about securing the future for our children and grandchildren.”
Fagbemi assured the governor and the party that the women’s wing of the APC is fully committed to delivering a resounding victory at the polls, with a target of 1 million votes coming from women across all units and wards in the state. She called on women to mobilize their families and communities, emphasizing the power of their votes in shaping the future of Ondo State.
The inauguration ceremony, which had a strong presence of party leaders, women’s groups, and key stakeholders, marks the official start of a focused and strategic campaign to ensure Governor Aiyedatiwa’s re-election.
With less than a month to the election, the APC Women Campaign Committee has vowed to leave no stone unturned in their quest to ensure Governor Aiyedatiwa’s victory.
