Ilaje, Ondo State – In a major breakthrough against illegal oil activities, Hon. Engineer Alore Omosuyi, Special Assistant to the Ondo State Governor on Pipeline Surveillance and Waterways Security, alongside the Tantita Security Services team led by High Chief Idowu Asonja, the Commander in Ondo State, uncovered an illegal refinery in the Ilaje riverine area yesterday, 23/03/2025.
Acting on credible intelligence, the joint security team stormed the site, exposing the illicit refining operation that poses severe environmental and economic risks. The discovery is a testament to the government’s ongoing efforts to combat oil theft, safeguard pipeline installations, and protect the region’s natural resources.
Hon. Engr. Alore Omosuyi reaffirmed the commitment of the Ondo State Government to intensifying security measures against illegal activities along the waterways. He commended the Tantita Security Services team for their vigilance and relentless fight against oil bunkering.
Authorities have since commenced further investigations to track down the perpetrators and dismantle any remaining illegal operations in the area, ensuring that those responsible face the full wrath of the law.
