Ugbo-Nla, Ilaje LGA – In a decisive move to curb escalating tensions, Hon. (Engr.) Alore Omosuyi, the Special Assistant to the Governor of Ondo State on Pipeline Surveillance and Waterways Security, took immediate action to address the recent communal clash that erupted in Ugbo-Nla Community. With a deep sense of responsibility and commitment to the welfare of the people, he led a team of security personnel to restore peace and prevent further loss of lives and property.
Upon receiving reports of the violent conflict, Hon. Omosuyi swiftly mobilized a security team comprising personnel from the Nigerian Navy and the Police Force. Their prompt intervention played a crucial role in halting the violence and ensuring stability in the affected area. The clash, which reportedly involved two factions—The Most Rt. Rev. Mobolorunduro Henry’s group and Mr. Ebiwano Adebowale Baale’s group—tragically led to the loss of one life, while two individuals sustained severe injuries and were hospitalized. Additionally, one person was reported missing.
Speaking on the incident, Hon. Omosuyi expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and assured the residents of Ugbo-Nla that the government remains committed to maintaining law and order. He emphasized that the administration of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa will not condone any act of violence or lawlessness.
“As we worked to restore calm to the community, I personally engaged with the residents of Ugbo-Nla, reassuring them of the government’s unwavering commitment to their safety and well-being. I made it clear that violence is never the solution, and no grievance should lead to bloodshed,” Hon. Omosuyi stated.
He further urged the youths of Ugbo-Nla and Ilaje at large to refrain from engaging in violent activities, regardless of the provocation. Instead, he encouraged them to embrace dialogue, unity, and developmental initiatives that would foster peace and progress in their community.
In a bid to ensure long-term peace, Hon. Omosuyi revealed that the Ondo State Government has pledged to intervene swiftly to resolve the underlying issues that led to the clash. He assured the community that discussions with local leaders, traditional rulers, and relevant stakeholders are already underway to prevent future conflicts.
“Our government remains resolute in its mission to safeguard lives and property across the state. We will not relent in our efforts to ensure that every citizen lives in peace, free from the fear of violence or intimidation,” he reaffirmed.
Hon. Omosuyi also commended the security personnel for their professionalism and bravery in restoring order to Ugbo-Nla. He acknowledged their selfless service to the state and encouraged them to remain steadfast in their duty to protect lives and maintain law and order.
As the situation normalizes, he called on all residents of Ugbo-Nla and Ondo State as a whole to remain peaceful, law-abiding, and cooperative with the government in fostering a harmonious society. He assured them that the administration of Governor Aiyedatiwa is fully committed to building a more prosperous and secure future for all.
