This initiative is part of the NDDC’s broader “Lighting Up the Niger Delta Project,” which aims to illuminate every community in the region.
Under the leadership of Managing Director Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, the NDDC has already installed approximately 56,786 solar streetlights across communities within its mandate states. This effort not only promotes safety and security but also supports the transition to renewable energy sources.
Key Objectives of the “Lighting Up the Niger Delta Project”:
– Improve Security: Enhance safety and security in the region by providing reliable lighting
– Promote Renewable Energy: Encourage the use of solar energy as a clean and sustainable alternative
– Support Community Development: Foster economic growth and social progress in the Niger Delta region
By supporting security agencies and investing in renewable energy, the NDDC is demonstrating its commitment to the well-being and development of the Niger Delta region.
